Occupational therapy and myofascial release | Philadelphia, PA | Plymouth Meeting, PA | Lafayette Hill, PA | Conshohocken, PA | Philadelphia suburbs
Occupational therapy (OT) is about all the big and little things that make up your daily routine.
It’s easy to take your normal activities for granted – until you start struggling to do them.
Residual symptoms from many conditions can keep you from functioning well in the life areas that matter most to you.
It doesn’t have to be so hard.
Occupational therapy shows you ways you can function well, be productive, & enjoy yourself, even if you’re dealing with:
- chronic or persistent pain
- fatigue
- movement limitations
- numbness or hypersensitivity
- disordered eating
- attention or memory problems
- difficulty planning and organizing
- anxious or discouraging thoughts
- sleep disturbances
- sensory overload
Together, we’ll find the easiest, most effective ways to do the things that are important to you.
We’ll find solutions to help you:
- structure your day so your routine works for you instead of against you
- perform your household, job, family, or leisure-related tasks in ways that minimize effort, pain, or overwhelm
- increase your tolerance for activities out in the community
- enjoy going out with friends and family again
- successfully return to work or school
- establish habits that consistently optimize your health, sleep, and well-being
- engage in other specific activities that are meaningful to you but not on this list.
This is your life. You choose the focus areas.
Then we work together, considering your strengths and unique circumstances, to move toward the outcomes you want.
At Farfalla Integrative Health, your occupational therapist, Christine McDevitt, MS, OTR/L has worked with adults with a variety of diagnoses for over 25 years. She has the expertise to:

- analyze your daily routine & your environment and correct for mismatches between your current abilities and external demands
- teach you practical techniques that make the most of your strengths while compensating for weaker areas
- deliver body-based treatments (including myofascial release and acupressure) to address physical symptoms
- teach you strategies to deal with cognitive difficulties during real-world tasks
- show you how to self-regulate your emotions and your mindset within specific contexts

What is occupational therapy?
Occupational therapy is a health profession that therapeutically uses everyday activities (occupations) to promote health, wellness, quality of life, and independence in the life roles that matter to you.
Occupational therapy considers:
- You – as a whole person: Your physical, mental, and emotional skills. Your interests, habits, values, and beliefs. Your view of the world and your place in it.
- Your environment: The spaces that you live, work, and play in. The objects and people in those spaces.
- Your occupations: ANY roles and activities you engage in during daily life (not just your job).
